Much to say today, as on any other day.

Many things have happened over the last couple weeks, and some were just fun, others more serious, and others a down right pain! Lets start with the fun first, just in case I drop before I get to it... LOL

Our Neighbour Len shows us his new BBQ Apron

Some us were cold in the sun

Larry and Linda came to make it right for Jo's Birthday

Larry and Linda Tyler surprised all of us by showing up last week for a short visit, which was nice to see them, and gave us much to celebrate, and have a few happy hours just welcoming them, and as fast as they came they were gone it feels now. The day before they came we had a happy hour at Jo and Lorne Hilmo’s they had been here for awhile, and was a good time to have a welcome at there place. They invited a couple Dick and Sue, and we had a fun time, there were 9 of us Chris and Don, Rob, Jo and Lorne, Dick and Sue, and Polly and I. We sat outside on the deck, and as per usual we all brought some food, and a few drinks. We yaked and got to know each other better, and there was much talk about people we knew in Port Alberni, people we knew in common. Sue was a Richmond, and her brother built our house, so that was a familiar name, and from there we kept yaking. Like any back yard gathering, we just had fun. Took a few pictures so we could remember the time, and didn’t stay out too long as the day got colder once the sun went down, so we went inside and kept yaking.

This part of RV’ing I don’t think I have written about, as we haven’t been so deep into happy hour’s before, as we have not been in one place this long since we started out with our Adventures. Not that we haven’t enjoyed many times where we would have a drink with neighbours as we travelled, but the ritual happy hour is something different here, as it can be perpetual. There is always something to celebrate! Wonderful it is, Polly and I do like to just sit and enjoy each other at times, and we do.

After the happy hour at Jo and Lorne’s, we were invited to another the next night, as Larry and Linda came in by surprise, so Polly had to tell Chris and Don, & Rob and Dawn, we were invited again the next night, and we had to go. What again Chris said, Polly stuck to her guns and said we were told we had to be there. Don of course said Why? Why does Jo want us there... Polly said I don’t know, just go! LOL and the mind started on Chris, she was thinking Larry and Linda, and when they arrived and saw a rented Lincoln, she knew. So a big welcome, and we all sat inside this night and had even more to talk about.

Jo and Sue get a chance to catch up

Shade will make us move inside

Nothing earth shattering in conversation, just catch up on what we missed, and catch up on what they missed, and what we had planned, and make more plans. When you try to describe it it is harder than what really happens. We all just get to know each other just a little better, and for me the world shrinks or grows a little more. We all have similarity’s, and places & People we love, and when we sit and talk like this we see that if we talk with someone that lived where we did we find comfort in connection, by comparing notes, and listening to another persons story.

This is where I am mostly a talker, have to learn to listen just a little more. I do listen, but ask most anyone, and yep, I talk alot. On this note I will sway away to another subject.

Over the last week we saw on TV and heard most everywhere there was another shooting, at a school, and 17 lives were lost, and some were wounded, and many were emotionally damaged, many as the circle is huge when you take young lives.

The TV goes wild with “get the story” People talk, and much is said about what should be done, but as we have seen over many times in the past, nothing changes much.

Polly and I talked about it, and we tried to figure out what to do, but we conceded at the end of our discussion, we couldn’t agree on what to do.

The young are taking a stand this time, I hope they have better luck, and can make a change, as we all want to make this behaviour change.

Now for some interesting fun looking forward, Polly and I decided when we leave here we will go to Phoenix as we haven’t stayed there before, and there is much to do and see there. So as we look for a place, and decide how long to stay, we find that the Canucks will play there on March 11th, so lets see if we can get tickets. OK I take on the job, and start searching. I go to a few different sites, and most want to charge more than on fee for the tickets, so as I close out and say no to a game. I see a site that is the rink site and check that out. Looked good, and price seemed good for what were very good seats, so I order them and am proud I got a not bad deal on seats, and close to the ice, about 5 rows up. All good till the final part, shit, I got the wrong day, they play on the 25th too. Dam, now what, so I call the number, and am told I have to go to ticket master for a change, as that was where the site took me to. I call them, and no, can’t change them. They can sell them for me if I want! Nope, so we decide to go, and that worked out not to bad, till the morning we were to go Bosco got into a coughing, kind of sneezing fit, he was wheezing, and snorting. Scared us, so we couldn’t leave him with Chris and Don, as would be just too much to ask, so decided to take him with us.

We had a nice drive there about 2 1/2 hours, and all worked out good, we parked close to the arena in the mall parking lot in shade, and went to the mall for awhile. After a relaxed shopping trip, we came back to the truck and took Bosco for a walk, and I changed into my new pants, and off we went to the game.

Was just so odd to walk by all the palm trees as we went to a hockey game, but was so nice to have a huge entrance area where we were welcomed by some beautiful cheer leader type of girls waiting for us to have pictures taken with them. Well I didn’t want to disappoint, so “Polly could you take a picture!”

All of us looking good...

We walked around the courtyard looking at what was going on, there was a small hockey rink set up, with some young fans playing, was so good to see. And many people looking around. The huge Coyote was not on Polly’s list of good sights. LOL

Polly says NO to the coyote.

We stopped at a bar just outside the entrance and had a drink before we went in as we were early, met 4 guys that were down from Toronto, was fun talking with them, one guy was a Newfie, and we had much to talk about with him.

We then went into the game, and the tickets were on a scan code on my phone, took me a little while to find this, but all went well, and we got in and went to our seats with another beer and looking to watch a game that we were unsure of how our team would do. Well what a surprise we were in for, tonight was the Canucks night, and a win was in the cards, but not before we had much to cheer about with those beautiful cheer leaders scraping the ice every commercial. Was a fun time, and Polly and I were just so happy the game went good, and when we went to the truck, Bosco was fine, and never another cough, so all good.

We drove back that night, and had much to talk about, mostly about the killings in Florida, but also about what we will do next as we plan ahead for our next part of the trip. The trip back seemed faster, less traffic, and could go a little faster. Love driving at night on a good highway, and with the moon out. Love how we still have so much to talk about after many years together. Love Polly, Bosco, Love this life.
