Different RV Park experiences, Snowbird Park, County Park, State Park.

Three different RV parks, 3 different experiences as we travel across southern Texas.

Snowbird type park is where many go to spend their whole winter.

Circle T was very nice, a smaller park with 217 sites, about 1/4 not occupied. This is a place where snow birds stay the winter for a reasonable amount of rent. There is a heated pool, big clubhouse, pool room with 4 tables, a card room, outside shuffle board, and bingo regularly. Picnic BBQ, and other dinners and entertainment regularly. A nice place to spend time, with all services close, maybe a little to close.

We met up with Polly's Cousins Clem & Jerry as we arrived Tuesday, and got a nice visit with them before they had to leave on the Friday.

Next day they gave us a good tour, to the flea market, then to Capilla De La Lomita park where the wall was to be built, eliminating the park. I had heard of this on the news, and got some more info as we stayed for a week, plus 2 more days. We got a royal tour of the area, which made us familiar with where to go, and what we might like to see. They were not staying at this park, but recommended it as was close to the motel they stay in. They come here for the dancing, warm weather, and friends they have made through the years  here. There are many dancing groups here, and they love to dance.

We also went to Falcon State park while we were here, was a longer drive than we thought it would be, but was worth it as wanted to know what the park was like if we wanted to stay there sometime. Was dry, more like a desert there, and was by a dammed lake, so when we checked out the boat launch was a very steep launch, and long to get to the water. After a drive around we decided not for us, but was good to take a look.

We also went to South Padre Island while we were here, and were surprised at how nicely done it is now, as when we last came here, was kinda down trodden. Now all we saw looked well run, and all in much better shape. 

All in all this was a nice place to stay with much to do and many services close. Would go back again. On the negative we did have sirens often, and some road noise as well as much traffic when we would travel anywhere.

Goose Island State park was a pleasure we didn't expect. Always nice to be surprised when you pull in and set up, birds were singing, and the bigger birds were squawking and flying around. The water was close so much to see here, and a couple that gave free bird watching tours here. This I took advantage of, and learned much about the birds that came here and the birds that are here all the time. 

Polly and I went an looked at the oldest oak tree here in Texas and close by there were many Great Egrets, Roseate Spoonbill's,

Whooping Cranes, White Pelicans, and Red Cardinals everywhere. All are unusual to us so was a nice change. We went into Rockport as was close, and enjoyed the Oysterfest as well as the waterfront. All in all another beauty place, campsites are big and private, birds were plentiful, close to a town but not in it, we will come back again.

Quintana County park was our next stop along the south coast, and again a nice surprise. As we approached the area we went over a bridge that is high and allows ships and barges under, and we both said "We have been here before haven't we?" and yes we had just not sure at the time when. We drove past oil tanks, and Natural gas tanks, and then to the park. Our first evening the fog cleared a couple hours before the sun went down, so I went for a walk on the beach, Wow! I had to go back to the trailer and get Polly, was this ever nice. 

We walked out on the beach and all was right in life, the beach was beautiful, and the sun was warm, and even the breeze was just right. We walked all the way to the breakwater, Bosco peeing all the way and running free for a change just what we needed. We picked up shells, and walked in the water, cold, but nice just the same. A beautiful evening💗

 Not too many people in the area we stayed, but enough to meet 2 couples from Quebec and have a fun evening happy hour with them trading info about where we came from as they were heading west. Then at the laundry Polly met a couple from Iowa that were full timing in an older Airstream trailer, we had a dinner of BBQ deer and potatoes with them as Polly folded there laundry, and they were so surprised. So and invite! Nice. We learned much from them, and politics were much of what they wanted to talk about, and Canada and what we think of USA and what the regulations on moving to Canada was. Was so fun, and they were so friendly.

We get a new experience where ever we go, but we do understand that when you are in an RV Park, it will be much different than in a State park, or a County park. Each has something you desire, till you desire a different experience! Then we raise our jacks, and off we go to what we desire now😁
