Our next stop between here and Okanagan Falls will be where we park on the way. No plans, except a possible stop in Hedley, BC for a little look around. We passed by a few years ago and didn't stop, so this time I'm thinking we will, just because. Often when we travel we pass by places as with a trailer it's hard to just pull over, but this trip we will try to slow it just a little more, even though we know our plan is to get to Grande Prairie 😊 and see our family there.
Leaving the island is harder this time, is beautiful weather, and we know what the fall brings here, even more beautiful weather. I'm sure the fall up north will be beautiful too. Hard to find the balance between the island and the mainland. Have you ever thought of that? I never did till just now, hmm. 🤔
I sit here looking out the window watching seagulls pass by, and people waking up walking towards the beach, sun's up higher now, and I think how I've grown up here, on this island away from the mainland. All around is water, ocean, lakes, rivers, and streams. This has been my love, water close. On the mainland you do have coastal areas, but most is lakes and rivers, (land locked).
The beauty I know already is there where we travel, just have to look, but most of what we see from the time we exit the ferry and head east will be oceanless, this I know as we leave the island. Leaving in the prime time is ok, as we have had a very very good spring/summer time here, weather fantastic, family and friends visiting has been really nice, even some connections that we hadn't expected, just really nice time here this year.
Looking forward to seeing friends and family as we travel north will be nice too. I know what the end of summer and into fall looks like north, colours will be happening soon, the forest fires 🔥 concern us, but so far no road closure on our route planned. Take it as it comes is how I plan, day by day the conditions change, plan ahead, and travel with what is.
Today our last visits are planned, Polly's sister & brother-in-law, our friends in Courtenay, our grandson & friends, my sister & brother-in-law Dan then off! Oh and others we didn't expect I'm thinking 🤔😀
Is how it goes, there is a time that you leave them behind, knowing you will return, hopefully all will be well. Like life, it's always changing, so we also know it will not be exactly the same when we return, people will change, places will change, and we will also change!
Life is not stagnant, enjoy your every moment ❤️🤗
Loving this life fully ❤️
PS, I finished this by the office, as Wi-Fi is spotty here, never sat and paid attention to the amount of traffic here, and congestion when a MH stops right in front, restricting traffic as people come and go with trailers 😳
