First rooster 🐓 crow this morning 5:03am he's waking earlier today.

What a great weekend this one was, and it's only Sunday! Friday was a bit of shopping, then some sink install I wasn't looking forward to. It worked out, but always so many things to think of when doing something like this. All I can say is good Polly's not too picky, as it's in, it's level, and it doesn't leak. Oh and it's much bigger than the old sink.

Such a difference between porcelain and plastic, always plastic when conserving weight. I'll finish off with some white caulking this week, it'll look a little better. Done, that's how I like it.

Moving on to Friday night, off to Steve & Ginny's for a bit of a pre dance get together was nice, I didn't take photos, but his cougar is looking really nice, maybe start the new engine today he said. Guy's in the garage, girls in the house, was a nice way to start the evening.

Dance was so fun, overwhelming I'd say, bringing back so many memories as we lined up on the walkway and then the stairs to get into the Italian hall. Wendy said, I remember when there would be coat check girls here as we'd come in, always a classy place for any event.

Then as we get our bands on our wrists, more people we haven't seen for so long, the place was full already, WOW 😮 I found myself shaking my head most of the night, just unreal is how it felt.

We got a table, we had two, beside each other. Our group got split up, but we still taking between tables, and the other table next to up too. What a freaking night. Polly and I when we got up for a dance to a Beatles song we really had a good dance, then one more, and as we danced I said "I'm looking around at all the people, people I hadn't seen for so long, so many we know." Polly agrees, she's doing same!

Coming home is great, and this dance was all I'd expected, even more.

Getting the tickets was easy, Rhonda picked up the tickets for us in town when we were still south, when she posted the dance, right away I wanted to go, and getting 12 tickets, I knew who I'd like to come. The people that have supported us as we went through this last year and a half. Good friend's of Christopher's, who've become good friends of ours. And friends we just really enjoy, that I talk with most every day, message mostly, but sometimes a video chat.

Some of these friends didn't know each other, this was part of my plan, get them together, so they knew each other. This did work, and now when we mention others they all know who we're talking about.

The dance floor was packed from first dance till when we left, 11pm, as we had a ride with Chris & Al, didn't wanna wait for a cab. Yes we drank some beer 🍺🍺, not too much, no headache. Can's were piled, competition between tables was on. Sylvie was the winner 🏆 I'm sure, as she got right up on the chair for the top can, ✔️ and it was done, tallest beer can building here.

        Beer can castle was built

This dance was a great way to return to the valley, so many faces, so much fun, and really good music 🎶🎵🎸

Getting home we didn't last long, bed was good night 😴

Yesterday breakfast with a friend, he gave me a ride to pickup our truck. We were in Big Brother's together for years, worked at the same logging camp, was a good breakfast, Rod and I had lots of driving talk to do, he in his logging truck, me with our truck pulling our trailer. Similar problems in town and in the highway. Was a good breaky, and a good way to start my day.

Picked up a few groceries, Polly ordered steak from buy low, so I got them, and a few other things. Home, drop off, then to a funeral service for a friend I'd known since I was really young, in highschool. She was a different bird I'd call her, yet a really nice person. She was really brave I always thought, Faith was her name. We had spent much time together over the years, was a good funeral for her, so many people came out. She woulda been happy to see them all.

The service was at the old Kinhut, we all crowed in, her son did most the talking, he did a good job. It was very informal, and really good, many spoke of her, people shared stories, was a really good way to do it. I saw her sister, I'd known for years too, and friends that I hadn't seen for years, hugs were plenty. I'm glad I went.

Home I went, not without a little drive about town, remembering so many places I'd been, so much history in this little town. My home town, our home town. Polly didn't come with me today, she really didn't know Faith.

Then yesterday afternoon was a quick wind storm, and power went out as Polly was getting ready for dinner with friends, well good we had some water in our water tank, as the pump for the campsite was electric, so no water. Got to love being self contained in our trailer. 6pm, just before dinner we got power back, but that never bothered us, Americo & Claudette came and we drank and yaked not even knowing that there was no power.

We had a really good dinner,

Steaks before I burned them 😂

Claudette said "We always have a good time with you guys!" It's true, we are really good friends, and always have fun together. Nice to have friends like this. ❤️

We shared dinner, beer, wine, and even a bottle of some kinda champagne, as the wind blew, and the rain came, and the sun even shined on and off. Watching the humming bird's flying around our feeder, so many birds came as the day was ending. We found lots to talk about before dinner, during, and after.

Got comfortable and watched a movie with them before they left, was a really good night, with really good friends. Oh, and Polly made dessert, Apple pie cheesecake 😀

Sunday now, no plans yet. Wonder what today will bring? No rain now, a walk is in order, as I missed last couple days. I'll go early before the car's start.

Sure do love this life ❤️

Coffee ☕ is cold now, still good though.

Leaving Laos, I never really thought of it.

I met a man here Sonny, he walks by most every day with his garbage to the dumpster, and a visit to the office. He introduced himself I'm thinking the first day he was here, rolled into a campsite I really like, #27 he said he was in, I knew exactly where he had parked. He offered to help me putting up my workshop when I first started, as I was going to put up the structure, he could come after 3pm he said. I had it all up next time I saw him.

He came yesterday, looking and acting kind of upset, and needing some help, so after a little explanation I walked to his MH with him, and took a look at the hole his fridge came out of, it fell over when he was driving in after his trip shopping. He needed help cutting a 2"x2" into legs for under the plywood shelf the fridge had been on. I took some measurements, asked a few questions, then we went back to my place & I cut the wood into 6 small legs, he took them, along with my drill and impact driver, a drill bit, and a hammer. I was happy he didn't want me to do it.

I worked on a planter while he was gone, forgetting about him, busying myself with a project Polly wants, another planter.

After about and hour or so he comes back with my tools and a couple beers, and a big smile. He says "you cut those pieces just right size!" Surprised looking. He was really happy, all was back together and thanked me as we drank the beer and talked.

He asked many questions about our travel, and living full time, he's onto his second year in his MH and loves it. He said if you told him 10 years ago he'd be doing this he would never have believed it, yet now doing it he loves it.

I asked as he had mentioned Surrey if he lived there. Yes was his answer, and from there we went onto where he was born, Laos he told me, then he told me when the country was being taken over by communism his Mom and stepdad decided to leave. Took them 4 nights and 3 days thru the jungle to get to Thailand. Then 2 years in a camp for people that were leaving Laos before they could come to Canada, they had an aunt that helped them get their permit to come to Canada. They arrived in Edmonton late at night, 30° in Thailand when they left -30° in Edmonton when they arrived.

They were driving towards the city, and he was scared as in Thailand and Laos going towards the light was where fires 🔥 were, he thought they should go the other way.

Polly has dinner ready, I sad to Sonny, I want to talk more, I'm very interested in your story.

I couldn't help but think how much different his life was compared to mine. We, our society can't really imagine how it is for people running for their lives away from what would be slavery, or worse.

I'll talk with him again soon, butforme now just thinking about his beginnings, it's believable, and yet unbelievable that this is still happening in our civilization.

Writing this even feels weird, like it's really not real, but it is.

Sure do love our life ❤️ even more now!

Mmm coffee ☕ 😋, Sunday morning

Sunday morning is the best, when the household sleeps in, & I get up, put on the coffee. We had a great Saturday night fire 🔥 with hotdog's and grandsons here talking with us. Was a really nice evening listening and talking with them. When the sun went down Polly left us, "I have to leave now, I'm going to watch my hockey game!" Polly said, and she was gone.

We sat outside awhile longer, finished the log birdhouse I'd started on before dinner, then we sat and talked some more, till Dax wanted to go home. Jesse and I gave him a ride home, then when we came back Jesse enjoyed the fire awhile by himself, and I went in and watched the Canucks give it to the Oilers.

      Polly's desert, smoore cupcakes 😋

Was a great day yesterday, today will be great too as Shayla & Carl will come pickup Jesse, so we'll get to see them too. All around great weekend, Ted a friend & his family be over today for a visit, been almost a year since we've seen each other in person, but we message often. Looking forward to seeing them again.

I slept in today, we stayed up late, watched a movie 🍿, ate some popcorn, and just hung out as it's said. 11:30 when the movie finishes, Jesse said he was tired, usually I'm in bed before 11, was funny for us to hear. He's been walking with me each morning, and busy showing Dax around on the trails, oh and an injury yesterday was very tough on him, blood has a way of knocking you down sometimes.

A cut to his finger brought on a huge amount of drama. Polly was in the shower when Jesse came in looking for a bandaid. Band-Aids are in the bathroom. Polly did get em for him, but after giving them to him, Jesse got woosie, and down he went! Polly screamed, I came a running, Jesse is in the corner by the couch on the floor. He's awake, but now he gets up, but still woozy, so I say Sit down, as if he passes out again, I'm not going to be able to hold him up, he's a big guy!
          Ductape always good

Sitting down now, hold your finger like this I said, and don't bend it. I get some paper towel, and the 🩹 🩹 bandaids, then after a few minutes I get it cleaned and covered. My first aid training comes in handy again. After we get it covered I decided a split was the best, as when it ends is when it'll bleed more.

We talked about it once Polly was outta the shower, she was concerned if Jesse saw her naked, she was so scared that he fell, he was so out of it at the time, blood was all around, was the event for the day alright.

Along with getting ready for family to show for a hotdog 🌭 roast, only Dax showed. Still was a nice day, and evening around the fire, just the 4 of us.

I completed the bird house, hung it in the tree behind our trailer, will probably put it a little higher today.

                 Swallow birdhouse

Morning start's now, Polly wakes and after her visit to the bathroom she comes out singing "What a beautiful day!" How can you not smile 😁 to that hey. Jesse start's moving, and that's it my alone time is cut short today. I still finish this, as everyone is on their device, quietly waking up, with a coffee ☕. It's nice how close we are in the trailer.

I just realized we went from having Lyn here with us for over a month, to now having Jesse here for a week. Been nice having company with us. Will be nice to have our own time again too though.

Sunday morning is special, I woke today thinking of a friend that passed afew years ago, and how I should call his wife, as I didn't get to his funeral. After I thought awhile my thoughts turned to Chris, and that is still so sad, I don't think I can give her a call, be a cryfest I'm thinking. I wouldn't wanna do that.

Today be a good day, another good day.

Love our life ❤️
