Sunday
morning in Lodi, California at Flag City RV Resort. Hmm Resort, well
a nice place to stay after a long drive from BC to California. Three
days on the road, 1st from Crofton to Port Angeles Ferry in Victoria,
through slush, snow, and pouring rains we pushed forth knowing warmth
and sun would come forth. Nice evening at the Seven Feathers Casino,
where we hooked up to power for free, and kept things warm, and Bosco
with some music so he wouldn’t feel so lonely, while we had dinner,
and dropped a few coins.
Just
heard the birds outside, sounds like spring here, beautiful sound
first thing (6am) in the morning. Loving life... Even Bosco’s head
is up wondering what that sound is!
Sleep
was good Thursday night, and woke up cool weather with winds rising,
and rain on its way. Coffee and a chat with Polly, a walk with Bosco,
and off we go before 8am. Rain and wind day alright, blowin strong,
and rain same, and we push through to the sun.
After
about 1/2 hr, we see a flat bed semi parked in the ditch, I mean
really in the ditch. The ditch is about 6 ft deep and the truck is
perfectly parked, trailer and all in the ditch! I say “That's not
the way to park!” Polly laughs, and we push on. A picture we had on
our newly purchased Dash cam, but did we know how to preserve it? Not
yet, but will learn as we go. The rain and wind keep getting harder
as we make our way along hwy 101 to Olympia, and I-5. The water is
beside us, and we saw many times when would be nice to have a
picture, but not too inviting to take a sap. Road is narrow, and
weather just not a good time. So Polly and I talk about when we will
take a little more time next time we make this trip, and spend some
time to stop and look around here.
Polly
asks things I can’t answer, and always tests my sense of Hmm. She
makes me think harder than I want to sometimes... LOL Asking as we
drive along, How will they get that truck out of the ditch? OK I
think, as I drive through the rain, wind, and windy road, How would
they? I say the can’t just pull it out sideways, and pulling it
back would be a loss as too far, must have driven 200 ft before it
stopped. I say Crane and have to stop traffic for awhile. This
satisfies my honey, and we push on to the sun, as the rains keep
coming.
The
drive is beautiful, with water on our left as we go almost all the
way to Olympia. Really a beautiful place to drive, and see.
Polly
is up now wondering “What time is it?” now back to bed... Love
my Polly.
We
make it onto I-5 and get to Chehalis,
time to get some fuel, and a couple of snacks, and drinks.
Polly
now asks “Is there coffee on now?” Yep she is awake, and will be
up soon, Polly takes a little time to get up, but she doesn’t run
outa energy and need a nap like me during the day. Reminding me of
last night she says “I dreamed of Turtles all night!” I laugh, as
we had no TV when we went to bed, and she had to work her way to
sleep, I should tell her a story! LOL so I did, and she will remember
that one for awhile... Was a fun way to go to sleep for both of us.
Time to get on with our day, more later.
