Everyone has the day before Christmas to get ready, and if you're not ready now, the hurry is on today. My memory is long, with many good times during my children's and my own time as a child at Christmas time, culminating in the person I am now.
This time in my life is the most relaxed during this Christmas rush I've ever had.
Our resort is moving slowly today, most things that would be scheduled today are not on, so I believe a swim in the pool, a walk about the park & a few "Hi how are ya's" be my day. Oh, and writing this blog post, 😄
Polly got up early as I did today, 6am. Reading the book she's taken on is her draw right now, coffee ☕ and a good book, what more can a person want. Polly has tried to tell me a bit about the book, a Canadian wrote it, and it's about creating a story for people that go into witness protection. Polly thinking I might want to read it, I agreed, even though I likely won't, just to keep her from telling me all about it now.
We have an iguana 🦎 that comes out right behind our trailer, bright green, and it always likes one particular high branch to sun himself on. Also a red breasted bird that came here behind us hunting bugs I thought, or maybe berries. Nice to have a show right outside the window.
Backed up within 5-6' from the bushes gives us great wind block when it comes, don't have to worry about our awnings being out, and the views of different animals and birds is great. I often search for a water view, or a distant view of something, but this is different, yet gives us privacy along with some variety. I think it's a take what comes, and enjoy what's there kinda opportunity.
Kinda like today, take what comes, and enjoy! My kinda day.
We had a couple of really good conversations yesterday, one with our granddaughter Shayla, was really nice to spend time and just yak, about everything, and anything, almost like being with her, minus the physical hug's. 🤗🤗
Then later in the day a friend Ted Legare, he was texting and I thought, hey he's got a little time, so I pushed the camera and we had a really good time yaking for awhile before dinner. Sylvie had to go shopping for a few more things, she's baking up a storm, Ted showed us. Ted was enjoying the down time for a moment, and that gave us time to chat. Was really nice 👍
Today might make a few of those calls to home, or at least to family or, and friends. Is a good day if ya catch them not rushing around last minute 😁 as we are not.
The highway is a little quieter today, trucks seem to be in Holiday already.
I got the packages I need to have the work done on Rambo yesterday, and made an appointment for boxing day to have the work done, not everyone takes that day off here. Be really nice to have our truck back dependable again, working correctly.
We do have a few places that we'll be checking out in Florida, beaches, and towns we'd like to see before we have to leave in February. Maybe another trip to a casino before we leave too, got to keep up the donations hey!
We have never been to Naples here, or the Everglades park, so that's two, then Lovers Key Beach by Fort Myers, all the outer beaches there be a nice drive one day, maybe stay a night somewhere on our way. Just check out the area a bit before we flock off with all the other snowbird's north again.
We really do love this place, but both of us think it's just too far to come every winter, and back. So likely next year we'll be traveling to Yuma again, and stay a winter there again, that is if our Canadian $$$ are worth anything here! If the dollar keeps dropping, will likely change countries that we'll be spending our winter, as loosing 50% of our dollar here, is not doing what we need to continue.
Might have to become 1/2 time RV adventures, as the winter might fly to another country that is favorable for our dollar. We do have some peso's left, may have to check out a different place to winter, someplace new 😁
Have you got any suggestions?
For now we are quite content in central Florida, our cost once here is not bad, as resort is paid already, so all we have left is food, and fuel, then a few places to stay on our way across the country till we arrive home in April.
I do find we are really looking forward to coming home again, as we have a wedding to look forward to there in August, Shayla gets married to Carl, be an exciting time. Just visiting with all our family and friends again, always exciting. Maybe just a little homesick now, as Christmas a family time hey. 😀
Well off for my walk now, 8:24 here, time to get moving.
We do love our life ❤️
