When you're planning ahead "Subject to change" is always a good way to think. Our trip towards Grande Prairie, Alberta with the Okanagan on the way has much to think could be changed. Fire's are now popping up everywhere across BC and Alberta, so change to our route could come instantly, before we travel or during. So the thinking of changing our plans at a moment's notice is something we like to be prepared for.
Best way to be prepared is to watch ahead the weather, and the fire news as it's happening, also just being aware that our plans might have to be altered helps us as we aren't disappointed, or pushing to get somewhere, we can be ok with staying here, wether on the island, or part way to our destination. Better to stay put, than head into a bad situation.
Last year we planned the Okanagan on our way, fires kept us away, this year hopefully we'll get a few visits in there.
Packing up hasn't started yet, but we are both thinking of it with every action now. A planned last trip down the River on tubes with friends and family. Then after some serious packing will start, as only a couple days left after before we head out.
One week we will stay at Qualicum Bay native campground, then off we go on the ferry. Only a few days before we'll be in the Okanagan then. Weather will play a big part then, as the heat could really effect how we stay from place to place. Heat means need AC, and our generator isn't set up for that so we'd need a plugin, no boondockin when it's 40°c.
We have a cooling trend right now, but always looking forward, and hopefully it stays cooler. Take it one day at a time.
Today I'm getting a friend to help me get our truck ready, tire's rotated, brakes checked, and a starting issue that gave me a little trouble yesterday, just making sure all's good. Don't want any trouble on the road.
I'm looking forward to traveling again, always something new around the next corner 😃, a new place, and a new face.
I didn't take the trailer in for anything this time here, I think last summers repairs will be enough for awhile. Wheel bearings were greased, what else comes up will deal with as we travel.
Coffee ☕ is cold now, guess I better get going this morning.
7am and still sitting here.
Slow start today.
Love our traveling Life ❤️
