I've lived this Monday pack up to go home day when I was working, but today I sit and watch as many here are leaving, and some were already packing last night, to be ready for leaving early today.
Is nice to watch, rather that have to busy ourselves with going today, as many have to. Retired gives us the opportunity to watch as the rest of the world moves to the tune of work. I remember what that was like, yet I'm very happy to sit as the performance as the campground clearance happens.
Today our granddaughter and her husband to be are coming for dinner, and a message I just got says our good friends Don & Bev are coming to the beach ⛱️ and hope to see us. We have had many visits with friends and family over the last few days, been really nice to see everyone.
Our campsite is in the middle of the campground, so behind we see the people that are exiting, and packing up, and people going back and forth, and kids going to the little park. We see the entrance to the dump station, so most go there before they leave as no sewage dump at the sites here.
Polly is now at baking something good, she told me what it was, but writing here I didn't really listen, brownies, I asked.
Yesterday we had Peanut butter & Jam cheesecake she'd made the day before, I still have a piece in the fridge, maybe I'll pass it on to my granddaughter ❤️, save me the extra calories 😂. It's really good, I'm not sure I can pass it up.
I see a lot from this chair, Polly baking, the campground packing, I'm thinking to myself camping in a Volkswagen camper van not for us, we've got used to the size of our house, it's a little bigger to tow, but very comfortable once we are set-up. Can't really imagine our life in a small van.
I hear the sounds now of an impact taking the jacks down, and another trailer goes by, some are not taking time to empty, or maybe they did yesterday. I feel like I'm in slow mode today, been busy every day so far. 9am before the dump station is open, they have it locked 🔐 now, have to pay $5 to dump this year, not a big fee, just something extra. We will dump on Wednesday, as we leave Thursday, after the rush of the long weekend.
We had planned to stop in Surrey a night close to a friend, and have a visit, but Polly heard much from the neighbors about Surrey violence, she's saying this morning, she doesn't feel comfortable anymore about this, so I'll tell our friend we'll stop, say Hi, visit a bit, but not planning to stay.
By the amount of mixing Polly's doing I think these brownies are going to be great 👍. Everything she makes is great 👍. I had a friend that thought Polly was a baker in her working career, but no, she just loves cooking, especially baking.❤️
Oh, and I'm a very good tester, I do like to eat! 😃
Early morning photos today
I wonder if it's smoke?
Beach ⛱️ day sounds good, I'm looking forward to a walk on the beach, probably won't get Polly out, but I'm going to go, right now, before the brownies get into the oven. Tides right for a walk, be nice to enjoy the sand and the water under my feet. Yep, a very relaxed day today.
Loving our life in Qualicum Bay ❤️
