A Holiday while on Holiday.

             We have the best friends

Get your glasses on, this is a long one LoL

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left the island we were treated to the island 🏝️🏝️ love with Friends & Family that helped us enjoy every moment.

We are so appreciateive of the "Royal Treatment" we got while on Vancouver island, dinner's, breakfast, & lunch often before we knew we were hungry. And party's 🥳 like we were teenagers 👌😆

We came for a wedding and some Dr appointments, and to visit as we didn't return to the island as usual on our way back to Canada as per usual, so this was the one time we will see everyone till next spring. We did try to get a visit in with as many as we could, but always some we don't get to see.

Always a good hug when we haven't seen someone for awhile, and that was just great for Polly & I, we always love the hug's and kisses 😘

Looking back on the whirlwind of time we spent it just seems it went so fast. First a few days in Courtenay with our friends Americo & Claudette who helped by picking us up late in the evening from the airport. A quick visit with them before we headed to bed.

An early walk with Americo was nice to start the day, breaky au Claudette, then lunch with our grandson Jet, who was too excited as his longboard was about to arrive any moment at his place. Was nice to see him and hear his voice, and see him again.

Dinner & a visit with A&C's daughter Angela & her hubby Matt, and there 2 children Wyatt & Remi, was fun, Remi warmed up to us after awhile 😃😊

Somewhere in here Ray stopped in for a visit before he went to work, his wife Cindy was away, but he stopped in for a Hi how are ya!
Barb also stopped in in the evening, was nice to visit with both of them.

Next day Claudette had planned our trip to the legion for the meat draw, now we were in for a treat. Winning Polly always love's, but this time 3 o us won, first Claudette won a draw on an old ticket, so bonus, then I won on Keno, then Polly won the money draw, & 6 steaks. Wahoo's all around. So dinner the day before we were to leave was planned 😁😆

Then the party 🥳 at Wes & Wendy's, they were great host's, appy night I was told, and so much different food, and some interesting things to see, and new people we met, was a fun night. DD is a term I knew before, now I've become one, and that was different from before, I used to need the DD lol.

Saturday now and off to Port Alberni with Americo's van he lent us for our week away, made our trip so easy to plan. On our way we dropped Barb off at her car, left at the party, so took the old highway to Qualicum, such a nice drive. Stopped at the beach just long enough to talk with a guy about his cabin on wheels, and enjoy the view.

We arrived at Ted & Cindy's our home for the next while,  such good host's, very nice to stay with them while we visited in Port. Nice when no pressure to do anything special, we went to see Lyn, Polly's sister, who was about to be married next weekend, she did have to get over her sore back first, and Andrew over hist twisted ankle, but all would heal before the wedding. Was nice to see them, hugs all around.

I'm having a tough time trying to remember all we did, and all the people we saw at this time. Sunday we visited Dan & George at there place and I caught up on all Dan's projects he's been doing while we were gone. Always busy he is.was a nice warm afternoon, the weather had changed from cool and rainy to this warm, we sat outside and had a good yak on the patio, was great.

Monday to Shayla & Carl's in Naniamo, our next house to stay awhile, key was out for us so we got a great greeting from Pyper there dog as we came in, and that was nice. We got setup and Polly had dinner already planned. Shayla and Carl both work, Shayla came home first, her first day at her new job, she was excited, so lots to talk about. Was really nice to see her.

Carl came home later, he has longer day's. Dinner and a bit of yak, then Carl to bed, Shayla managed to stay up awhile we played Skip Bo, was fun. Shayla to bed, we not far behind.

Off to Victoria next day for me, Dr appointment and hospital tests, thought I had lung problems. Checked out okay 👍

Got to visit Gonzalez bay beach on my way outta town, I had forgotten how beautiful it was in summer. Just a little smell the rose's as I drove home. Stopped for a break at the top of the malahat to see Brentwood bay and mount Baker.

Then off to the traffic jam at an accident scene at the turn off to Cowichian bay. This added another hour to the drive, so missed seeing Jayden, our oldest grandson. 😟

Polly and I got another game of Skip Bo in with Shayla, winning wasn't important, was just nice to be with her. We got to see her get up in the morning, and see her to bed in the evening, made for a nice visit all around 🤗❤️

Wednesday we went and visited my sister Joy & Brother-in-law Dan, they just moved in their new home, was a nice visit, coffee and bagel's on the deck, and a walk around the neighborhood. Hugs all around 🤗🤗❤️❤️❤️
Picked up a dehumidifier that we had stored at their house, and brought it to Shaylas place to store till next spring.

Back to Shayla's house, Polly made dinner, Shayla made us an offer, if we wanted to stay there we could, as long as Memere-Polly made dinner's.. we LoL 😆

Wednesday off to Chris & Barbs for a visit, was nice to see them again, hug's again 🤗🤗
So much to yak about, was a good time as always. Lunch at the Saw Mill restaurant in Chemainus made for a easy jaunt to our next adventure, Dr appointments with our GP, and our yearly checkup. Always 😊 fun lol.

That's is, Dr gave us a clean bill of health, we ready for our next adventure 👍 a wedding in Port Alberni, at Sproat Lake, Polly's sister Lyn & Andrew tie the knot on Friday.

Friday, the wedding went over without a hitch, was a perfect day to be married. Andrew & Lyn looking beautiful, Andrew sung to Lyn on her way down the isle, was very cool.

Went for a visit with Don & Chris at their house for dinner & so much to talk about, hugs 🤗🤗 some more. Nice to catch up with them, always lot's of laughter.

Saturday I had to move all my tools and lumber collection from Ted & Cindy's as they have their house listed for sale, and if and when they sell don't want to have to deal with this then. So I asked Donny at Arrowvale if I could store it there till we come back in the spring, and his answer was, "I'm sure I can find a place for it." That was nice to hear, so Saturday morning was the move, Ted helped me, glad he did, I forget how much I had, this spring I have a lot to do getting rid of as much of the lumber as I can, some more fun projects 😊

Saturday afternoon the wedding reception party was toned down a little, no huge celebration as planned, appys at Brennan & Kristy's with a swim in the pool, was just right 👍

That evening a party for 3 birthday's on my birthday 🥳 was fun, Penti, Crystal & Carli

were surprised to see all the people in the hall yelling "Surprise". Polly & I got to visit with many friends we hadn't seen for a long time. We didn't stay too long, knowing I had to move the rest of my lumber the next day. We bid our farewell to the party and our friends, then off to Ted & Cindy's for our last sleep there. Next year when we return, they may be in a new to them home.

Sunday early Ted & I attached the little trailer full of my woodworking tools, the truck was full of wood and my work benches and off we went to Arrowvale. Was a quick trip to unload, then back for breakfast at Solda's we had a good final vist with Ted & Cindy, then off we went to see Penny & Dax for a late morning visit.

Was nice to see them both and give hug's 🤗🤗, been since Christmas since we saw each other. Birthday presents exchanged, and our plans and their's talked about. Be another 9 months before we see them again. Traveling does have it's other side, missing our family and friends.

This trip home gave us opportunity to visit many. So off we went to have a last visit with Don & Chris, took Don up to see Daniel's cars and met Herb at the same time. We had a good look around, Dan Herb & Don had much to talk about, cars,

Was a good look around, and final goodbye to Port Alberni as we headed to the highway outta town feeling good we got to see everyone we could, as well as Dr appointments all caught up.

Off to Courtenay and dinner with Americo & Claudette & friends Barb, Ray, Howie & Cyndy was nice, dinner and ice cream Birthday cake for dessert. Nice way to end our trip, Thanks Americo & Claudette, always thinking 🤗

The next morning 3:30am, our great friends got up and took us to the airport in comox. Truly good friends, we gave a good hug each, no tears, we had a very good visit with them, and a great trip. "Thanks hey 👋👋 see you in Florida hey 😎🌞, never know."

I Always like propose opportunity, never know what might, could, maybe happen.

Long story this time, but that's how 12 day's Holiday while on Holiday went, got stuff done, and enjoyed as many visits as we could too.

Today as I finish this we have moved out of Mike & Linda's yard to the campground they spend some of there summer at,  Woodland Camp Site, on Buckhorn lake. We will stay here 10 days, another Holiday 🌞😎😁

Yesterday first neighbor I met was Brent, was surprised to hear his name was Brent too. Later we were sitting outside and his wife came by with Brent, we introduced ourselves, and her name is Pauline LoL, we all had a good laugh over that.
Brent & Paulette & Brent & Pauline wow

Life is full of fun, and laughter feels good. Going to have many laughs the next 10 days 🤣😂😅🤣🤣😂😅

Loving life here in Ontario ♥️🤗

What am I made of? What do I believe? How do I think?

Reading an article in "USA today" written by Candy Woodall, Replacement theories, hunting RINOs: How GOP candidates, lawmakers push 'dangerous' language.

The line in the headline that attracted me to look at it was about "hunting RINOs"

I didn't finish reading it yet, once I got to the point where the question posed was about how articles written could create dangerous behavior somewhere there I thought, how do I operate? What do I believe? What is my basic operation thoughts when I think?

I think I'm correct in saying I don't really examine how I think of what's happening. I come to a decision about what I read because of what I have accepted as my beliefs about how we all act, are, behave.

Now I go back to the article and the place I read it takes me to there page, and I can't find it to read it there, so I look under USA today, I find it, but not able to read it unless I pay $1 a day to the business. LoL 😆 not going to happen. I'm a cheep reader, I'll find a way around this I think. There, that's a behavior I have, I'm not sure when or where I got that, but that is just one way I behave.

Along those lines, people that know me know I don't like to pay for parking, some would say cheep, I say why pay when you can find it free? And I do often, but sometimes I do pay, even if it bugs me to.

That's a couple of parts of me, but not all. There is so much to make a human being operate, like a computer, but we have given ourselves our operating system. We update it regularly with some information, but our basic beliefs come from a long time back in our history.

What we accepted as the basis for our life.

This will control us, our decisions are automatically made from this base, our beginning controls everything from then on.

Hmm I say to myself now as I write, I'm going to be thinking of this just a little more over the next while, just pay attention to what I'm thinking. I snikker to myself, will I really 😄😆

We are all taught from the day we are Born. We make a decision to accept this or not. Everyone's basics are different, so many things that make up a person. We all got information, and decided to accept it, or not. If not, then what?
Looking for different information is critical to how we make decisions, and how we live our lives. We all think our way is correct, and at the same time we all have different beginnings.

The article struck me as what it was implying is we are being force fed information that controls our thoughts, or enforces what we believe in the first place.

Critical thinking will help, but our basic beliefs are deep inside us, I'm thinking we cannot change this.

As Popeye said "I am's what I am, and that's all I am!" My learning started a long way back, I'm a critical thinker, but can be tricked by writing that hooks me on my early beliefs.

I was taught by a friend to look at the writer, the publisher and be aware not all that's written is true goods.

I finished the article now, and learned what RINO is, (Republican in name only) hmm, now I know.

Every article has information, it's up to me to get the true goods, and often that takes effort.

Canada Day is over now, what's next?

We celebrate our nation on the 1st day of July here in 🇨🇦 Canada, yesterday was a doozer. Children's parade, foam pit for the young ones, then the dunk tank where the older ones got dunked, then after dinner the band played right up to the time the fireworks started. All celebration was put on by the campers and a few key people that give it their all.

This campground and these people all from Sault Ste Marie have been so welcoming, I could stay all summer. Such a great experience being not from here and welcomed like we were. Is this being Canadian? 🇨🇦 🍁
I think it's being human, welcoming, inclusive, & friendly. Has been a very good Canada day, and celebration 🥳🎉🎊 was good for the spirit after so much regulation the last couple years.

Polly made cupcakes for the kids

               Fireworks all set to go

Today we leave for Sudbury, some say "Why you going there? Nothing there!" I'm thinking they just haven't looked. Will find out for ourselves today, always something to see everywhere we go. The Big Nickel for sure, were told there's a big loonie on the way there at Echo Bay, (Never know if you don't go) applies here.

Every day another adventure, different sights, different places, and different people. Such a great experience. Canada Day here was great. Now we go back to bitching about high cost of everything, how our politicians are screwing up our country, how things aren't as we think they should be.

This year's celebration here taught me about us Canadians, if we want something we can make it happen, don't just bitch about it, step up, make it happen, like they did yesterday.

Love this life ♥️🤗
Congrats Canada, 🇨🇦 made it another year.
