Anticipation

My first thought was where is this double footed person, or was it Sasquatch

Saturday was a really good day to move I thought, we had moved most of the boards the last few days, and the shed/tent was move was friday, so Saturday Polly was going to Shayla our oldest Granddaughter's wedding shower, perfect time for me to make the move.

Well all was going good, rain quit, and sun was coming out, Shayla came and got Memere/Polly, so I was Free till after 4pm to move everything left. So I took a couple loads over to our new site, then got a couple friends to load the Hitch in Rambo, happy they did that as I couldn't lift that after my surgery, so Donny and Nathan lifted and reinstalled it.

Then one more load, came back and loaded the trailer on, closed all the slides, and unhooked everything, Jack's up, had a woman that was walking by check my light's, and off I went. All was perfect I was thinking as I drove out, everything was going so good. I had to turn into the neighbors driveway across from the driveway to our site, I had looked it over before, so was confident that the driveway was good.

I made a wide turn, went over into the oncoming lane as no traffic coming, and swung into the driveway all good until klunk, and something wasn't right. Gave it some throttle, no Go. Ahh shit, what was wrong. I get out and look, faak, I swore, was sunk in on the passenger side as the driveway was soft on the edge, and the wheels went down hard till the back of the trailer was hitting the ground. Dam!  What now?. Laurie came over saying "I wish Drew was here, he'd be able to help, I don't know what to do" I said don't worry, I'll get it out.

Although I wasn't sure I could, but after a couple times looking I decided to put a few boards in front of the trailer front wheel, hoping the trailer would climb up them the lift high enough to pull out. So put 3 small 2"x6" boards in front of the wheels, and got into Rambo and gave it a good tromp on the throttle, up up and  away we went down the driveway. WOW 😲, I was surprised. Got out, looked at the trailer and all was good, back Jack has dirt on it so it sunk into the dirt too. WOW, I'm.still surprised, lucky me 🤞, I was already thinking tow truck, but this was great.

          tire track was about here,

So backed up with the guidance of two people, and soon I was sitting in our new site, feeling pretty good. Got the electric hooked up, Jack's down, truck off the Hitch, & slides out. Then I heard the rain, sounded like hail, big huge drops, so out to put the windows up on the truck, and close things up, and soaked I was. Oh well, off I go to get the last load of stuff from our campground.

I needed a hand, so I went in the office at Arrowvale, asked the woman, a new hire there if she could give me a hand. Rain didn't scare her, yep she said, and right away she was out helping me load our stairs and the last planter that was there. Thanks a lot I said, was really good she gave me a hand, woulda been stuck otherwise.

Back to the wedding shower not far from our new site, pickup Polly and home we went. So nice to be all moved in, regardless of the getting stuck. I showed Polly the ruts I left by the driveway, she was wide eyed, as I was.

That evening we had friends over, our good friends Americo & Claudette brought our mail, and a beer for each of us, we celebrate our friendship, as we usually do when we get together, knowing the next day was 40 years since they were married. A dinner was planned in Qualicum at the Shady Rest, we were going to go too. Needed a day off anyway.

Sunday morning I had a meeting with friends from my younger day's a bunch of guys that raced car's all over when we were younger. Was a great day thanks to Gary Zwodeski setting this up, we did it last year too, was fun all talking about the fun times we remembered. Was good to just BS about how we were, and the fun we had.

Then home I went, got Polly and off we went to Qualicum for lunch with a bunch, 12 to be exact, friends of Americo & Claudette Pavan all to enjoy their anniversary on a sunny day, on the deck outside laughing and joking about all the fun we've had, and all we have yet to have. 😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎 12 of us all enjoying the couple that brought us all together. Sure was a great way to spend our afternoon.

A walk on the beach was in order, so on our way home we stopped at Sunny Beach road, and had a short walk, in the wind, was a great way to top off our day. Sunday in the Sun, with friends, and on the beach. Perfect 👌

looking so pale in the sunlight

We stopped at Qualicum native campground and made a reservation for camping later in August, after Shayla & Carl's wedding, before we leave the island. Always enjoy camping here.

Lucky 🤞 us, Love our life ❤️
