Fence is almost complete now
When we left Arrowvale I thought I'd really miss seeing the river on each trip into town, but after 3 weeks here I'm noticing how beautiful all the farms and mountains are as we drive in and out of Beaver Creek. Sometimes through Smith Rd, and often beaver Creek Rd, many beautiful sights. One in particular is a big beautiful house with a full mountain view behind, but the best part for me is the land 🦈 shark's in the field between the house and Smith Rd. I laugh 😂 everytime I pass by. I've wanted to take a photo, but is close to a corner, so don't want to stop on the road, and driveway is there, but I just haven't.
It's fun how we think about what we'll miss when we leave a place, yet once yer gone, you have the memories, so you don't really miss it so much, just the thought of it. No trails to walk from here, have to drive to walk them, but still Polly and I went for a walk around the garden yesterday evening, was nice to see all that is growing here, so many different things.
Blueberry's 🫐🫐🫐 top of the list, but many other plant and bushes here, most I don't know the name of, flowers, and vegetables, and fruit. Was a nice walkabout, Nacho the dog came to join us, he's a really nice dog. The owners have gone camping for a few days, so we are all by ourselves here.
Quiet this morning, one or two cars went by, but other that that quiet. I got a message from Penny, she was up early, having a good morning she says. Nice to hear!
How long we will stay has come up lately, not sure, but for now is good. Mice have been a problem, they love to come in and get into our food, so I got a trap from a friend, placed it in a drawer under the sink, where they seem to like to be, and so far caught 9 in it, and two in an empty bucket. Night before last I thought as we didn't catch anything, that we'd got them all, but my mistake, we caught two more since. I don't know how many there are out there, but I'm not sure I'll win the battle.
When we used to go to the cabin I'd rig a bucket with a can with a hanger through the center, into a bucket with water in it. Put peanut butter around the can and the mice would fall in trying to get the peanut butter. I did that here, but can't put on the ground, the dog would likely lick off the peanut butter. But this trap hasn't caught any, even tried it in the cupboard under the sink, nope, they like the cheese 🧀 trap better. So I keep setting it.
Oh well, just is what it is.
I've been very slow at setting up my shop this time, I do have most everything in it, but the dust control tubing has been a pain, just routing it, and attaching it, and figuring it out, as I'm on the ground, so difficult to get up and down. Limitations as we age, getting down to ground level one thing, getting back up, another 😲
I went to a lady's place yesterday, installed a screen door, something she'd wanted done for a couple years now, I just was always busy. Yesterday I took the time and did it, wasn't as difficult as I'd thought it might be, actually fit in pretty good. Down on ground level and back up a few times, and a couple possible bad words a few times, but I got it done, and she's very happy with it. Feel's nice to complete something, something someone really wanted.
Well today I'm going to finish the dust collector install, then build a few things I said I'd do for our Granddaughter's wedding. Then 4 planters for our cousin in Edmonton. Will be taking them out with us this fall. A friend said last year that I'm spreading pieces of me all over the country through my woodworking. I'd never thought of it like that before, but as I do this now, I believe she's correct, and I love the idea of this.
Always nice to do want you love, for people that really appreciate whatcha do!
Love our life ❤️ wherever we are.
